Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dr David Hermann

MBBS, FRACS (Orth)

For over 20 years, Dr Hermann has helped patients of all ages stay active – specialising in arthroscopic knee and shoulder surgery, sports injuries, and orthopaedic care for children and adolescents.
Based in Adelaide, Dr Hermann has developed focused expertise in conditions that require precise arthroscopic technique and careful planning of recovery. His practice spans knee and shoulder surgery, including ligament reconstruction, meniscal surgery, rotator cuff repair and the management of shoulder instability across a wide range of patients and injury types.
His interest in paediatric and adolescent orthopaedics is a core part of his practice. As Director of Sports Medicine at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in North Adelaide, he works regularly with young athletes whose injuries require an understanding of growth, development and age-specific surgical decision-making beyond the adult orthopaedic model.
Patients leave Dr Hermann’s consultations with a clear understanding of their condition, their options and what recovery involves. He takes the time to explain his assessment thoroughly, with expectations around outcomes and rehabilitation grounded in clinical reality.
He consults at Memorial Medical Centre and Flinders Private Hospital in Adelaide.
